How ℏIntel handles Hedera Discord and r/Hedera data.

In short. ℏIntel is an internal analytics tool run by a moderator of the Hedera community. It covers two sources: the Hedera Discord, read by a bot in channels the server administrators have granted it access to, and r/Hedera, a public subreddit, read from a public archive. Both feed private, staff-facing dashboards. The bot posts nothing, replies to nobody, sends no DMs, and takes no moderation actions. Nothing is sold, shared with third parties, or used to train AI models.

What is collected

Only from channels a Hedera server administrator has explicitly granted the bot access to. The bot cannot read private DMs, and cannot read any channel it has not been invited to.

Message content (text), truncated to 1,500 characters
Display name and Discord user ID of the author
Channel name, timestamp, reaction counts, and whether a message is a reply
Embed text from moderation/log channels, used to distinguish joins from departures
If the Server Members intent is granted: member list with server join dates, used only to report how many people joined in a period

The bot does not collect voice data, presence/online status, private messages, email addresses, IP addresses, or payment information.

Reddit (r/Hedera)

Reddit data is public content from r/Hedera, obtained from the Arctic-Shift public archive rather than by scraping Reddit directly. No Reddit account is logged into, and no private or deleted content is requested.

Reddit username of the author, where the author has not deleted their account
Score, upvote ratio, comment counts, flair and timestamps

Posts by [deleted] authors are excluded from contributor and author reporting. Because Reddit content is already public, the Reddit dashboard shows post titles and links openly; the Discord dashboard, which contains non-public channel messages, does not and is password-protected.

The same choices below — opt out, deletion, access — apply to Reddit data. Note that removing content from Reddit itself does not remove it from a third-party archive; contact us and we will remove it from ours.

Why it is collected

Support quality — detecting questions that went unanswered, and how long answers take
Safety — surfacing scam, phishing and impersonation language for moderator review
Community health — activity levels, sentiment trends, contributor and newcomer retention

Each of these requires reading message text; none can be derived from metadata alone.

Where it is stored, and who can see it

Data is stored in files on the operator's machine and rendered into static dashboards hosted on Vercel. The Discord dashboard, which contains member names and non-public channel messages, is encrypted and password-protected — served as ciphertext, readable only by staff holding the password, not indexed by search engines. The Reddit dashboard covers content that is already public on reddit.com and is not password-protected.

Aggregate figures (totals, percentages, charts with no names or message text) may be shared more widely in staff updates.

Retention

Message data is retained for as long as it is useful for community reporting, and is deleted on request (see below). There is no fixed retention period; the archive currently begins in January 2025.

AI and machine learning

Message content is not used to train, fine-tune or improve any machine learning or AI model. Sentiment is scored by VADER — a fixed, rule-based lexicon — combined with a hand-written keyword list. No model learns from the data, and nothing is sent to a third-party AI service.

Your choices

Opt out. Any member may ask to be excluded. Their messages are then removed from the dataset and excluded from all future collection and reporting.
Deletion. Any member may request deletion of their collected data.
Access. Any member may ask what data is held about them.

Website analytics

The dashboard uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not store personal information or track visitors across sites.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date above and communicated to Hedera Discord staff.
